RESEARCH & ARCHIVES

The Southbury Historical Society collects primary and secondary material documenting the history of Southbury and its inhabitants up to the present time including books, journals, diaries, family papers and documents, cemetery and genealogy records, maps, military, school, church, industrial and commercial records, and oral and video histories. Images of Southbury including photographs, negatives, slides and postcards.

RESEARCH APPOINTMENTS

You may schedule a research appointment by calling 203-405-3124 or emailing the archivist directly at archives@southburyhistory.org.  Please allow 2 weeks' advance notice when scheduling research appointments.

REMOTE RESEARCH

The Southbury Historical Society offers research assistance for those unable to visit the Society. Those emailing or writing letters must describe their query as thoroughly as possible.

While we make every effort to respond to research requests quickly, results may not be available for two to three weeks.

RIGHTS & REPRODUCTION​

​The Southbury Historical Society provides photo-reproduction services for materials contained in its collections for educational, personal and commercial use. Permission to reproduce must be granted and is at the discretion of the Southbury Historical Society. All requests to reproduce must be submitted in writing or by email. Fees will be charged in accordance with the Fee Schedule and must be paid in full in advance.
